Cat & Fiddle

Up

Another great turnout for the Cat and Fiddle met at Birch services on the M62. We headed east a short distance on the M62 to the A640. Then it was over the moors to Holmefirth and down through Glossop and then Buxton. We got split up a bit through Glossop, so after a brief stop in a lay-by to regather we carried onto Buxton. We followed the A54 down to Bosley and turned left towards Leek.

After lunch in a pub in Bosley I went ahead to get some action photos near Rudyard Lake. Then we carried on through Leek, Meir and Stone and onto the A51 for Nantwich. From Nantwich we were supposed to head through Crewe and Middlewich and up to Poplar services, but I had other ideas. We were too close to the A534 toward the A49 for me to ignore one of my favourite stretches of road. So off I head with my sheep wondering where I’m going, but still following me. We then turned north onto the A49 and after a coffee in Tarporley we headed home. We had another great day with excellent weather apart from a bit of fog over the moors near Holmefirth.
