On the 17th July the Honda Owners Club organised a joint lunch at various
venues around the country. At ManHOC, we arranged with the West Coast Riders,
Cumbria and 3 Shires to meet up. What we didn't know was that the Cumbria branch
would be at a show in Cumbria and the 3 Shires would be at the Oxford rally. But
we still had 9 bikes and 16 people turn up.
We set off at 10 (should have been 9:30 but someone [not me] overslept) just
as the weather was changing - from hot to SCORCHING. We had a fairly ordinary
ride up to Hawes where we had a very nice lunch - the sweets were particularity
good. After that, we decided to visit a nearby waterfall and pub, followed by a
pleasant meander down the Kettlewell road to another "watering hole". It's a
shame that no-on wanted to stop at the ice cream van as the temperature rose to
35c......
Anyway, all in all, a pleasant ride out - some pictures below.
Waiting at the start until the last two turn up |
|
The lunch. We waited impatiently for the servers |
|
Our chairman gets caught at the salad bar - and ends up with a big
plate full. |
|
Everyone else tucks in as well. Geoff can be seen enjoying his
bread. |
|
Time for sweets - everyone perks up. |
|
Off to the waterfalls. Graham decides he is a horse and Karen has to
feed him |
|
Getting to the base of the waterfall was tricky - but we made it. |
|
And here we all are - and this is what it was all about. |
|
Then, back to the bar for a refreshing drink |
|
And on to the next pub where we just lazed in the sun. |
