Yet another super day out for the Manhoc crowd.

We started off nice and early from Birch services - 12 bikes and 3 pillions. An eclectic mix of bikes - 2 Yamahas, 2 BMW's, 2 Triumphs, one Suzuki and - yes - 5 Hondas !!!

After a brief stop while those who took a wrong turn caught us up, we had a great ride over Woodhead, down the M1 and across the A616 to the A1. At this point, Gary decided to fall asleep and headed down the A46 to Lincoln instead of turning right down the A1. About 10 miles later, he woke up and we then turned round.... We stopped at Downtown for a very nice lunch. Phil J managed a full three courses - the rest of us ate somewhat less

The stay at Rutland Water was short but very amusing (as you will see below). We then headed back via Ashbourne and Buxton to home, only stopping at the most expensive petrol station in England because Brian said he needed fuel "NOW!!" [it took 11 litres to fill his Triumph - so he did have some spare].

Some pictures to keep you all amused. More when I get them from others.

At the start of the ride - with Brian trying out his new camera
Outside Downtown - admiring bikes (Ian obviously needs something bigger than his Goldwing and is looking enviously at a Rocket 3)
One at Rutland Water, Gary quickly got his Angels round him (I think they missed him) - Rona tried out Ian, but was not that easily satisfied ! So, Ian got in on the act in another way:)
Then, down to the water for the obligatory paddling. Gary and Rona were very keen.
Gary, ever the gentleman, stopped Rona from getting too wet
Then, after a very pleasant ice-cream, it was time for Val to join in. But first, Rona needed to be carried since her feet were very delicate. But Steve decided it was all to tame and gave them a helping hand towards the water
Val took the safe route in - we don't ask what Gary was doing at the time - but Val did look happy afterwards
Meanwhile, the audience was looking on - and Brian was getting closeups
