Well, what a start to the new year. We had 15 bikes and 4 pillions turn up.
Superb. It started off sunny and stayed that way all the way to Blackpool.
Gary chose a nice route through the country and only let us down once in
Blackpool where a local rider on a Honda 125 had to lead us to a car park.
The fish and chips at Harry Ramsdens was great (after we were thrown out of a
pub - it said "No crowds and no children" and we had both) and we went out to
have a paddle in the sea. That was when it started raining so we had a quick
photo shoot and headed back to the bikes. Then, back to Garys for a cuppa and
some biscuits before heading home.
No real incidents to speak of - apart from the horse that bolter right across
my path - I was very glad I had ABS on the wet roads (so was Rona who was a
pillion at the time).
So, some pictures to show what fun we had.
At the start - not everyone was there |
|
Phil and Rona arrive |
|
Alan arrives - note the lack of gloves (but only from the petrol
station) |
|
Inside - we wait for Peter and Mark (we were told flat battery - we
think, oversleeping) |
|
And then back outside ready for the off |
|
Once in Blackpool, we finally find somewhere to park. |
|
And then in for classic Fish and Chips. Malcolm has some trouble
with the menu and Val has to feed the baby |
|
Gary orders the special and finishes it off in style (note the tee
shirt) |
|
Once outside, the weather turned a bit - but to prove we got to
Blackpool, the photo with the tower |
|
Then, back to Garys where Rona needed to be brushed down (and who
got that lovely job?) |
