Where ?
The day dawned bright and sunny in Rochdale - opened the curtains to be
greeted by severe frost. Oops - not a good start since the gritters don't come
up my road.
So, get the bike out (2 degrees) and go for a walk down the road with my
camera to check things out. This is what I found.
So, that was it for me. There is danger and excitement riding bikes - but
that was just silly. Ring up Gary and tell him the (bad) news. Then, off to the
golf course for some severe flagellation (aka hitting golf balls)
Gary now continues the story
A cold January morning and twelve riders
turn up for a ride to Chesterfield. Alan couldn’t join us as he couldn’t get his
bike out of the street because of thick ice. We had to re-route slightly as the
planned route included B roads that might have been unsafe due to freezing
conditions.
So we head for Glossop and the A57 via
Holmfirth. The pace is slow as Gary leads the group to the Snake Pass Inn for
some dinner. As it was a late start and a slow ride, everyone agreed to miss
Chesterfield and Peter Pan led the group through some nice twisties via Matlock
and the Cat and Fiddle to Stockport where he made the remaining six members a
nice warm drink before we all went home.
Photos will follow when Gary gets the right lead for his camera.
