Seven bikes started from Forton Services on the M6. We struggled to get a decent pace because of traffic up to Leyburn. We had a short stop at Leyburn where Malc, on his new VFR said that he and Big Tony were taking another route home.

So that left five bikes heading for our destination.

We found a nice country pub near Helmsley where we stopped for some dinner. That’s where we parted company with Phil and Steve leaving three bikes. No need for buddy system now and we had a nice ride to Robin Hoods Bay. After a walk down to the beach and a few photos we were ready for a drink. Karen found THE OLD POST OFFICE, which is a book shop and has some comfy sofas where you can relax and have a drink. Raphael recommends the hot chocolate.

The ride home was marred slightly by the storms between Harrogate and Colne. But when we got to the M65 the sun was out again and the roads dry for a spirited ride home.
