This page details how to fit a Vista Cruise throttle lock to a VFR
motorcycle. The same technique should work for most bikes with two throttle
cables.
A Vista Cruise throttle lock (VC) is designed to hold the throttle open when
activated to allow the rider to rest their hand and wrist whilst riding. It
should not be used around town or on any crowded roads.
First, pull back the throttle grip to expose the plastic bar
underneath. You will see a ridge near the switch block. The VC is intended
to go between this ridge and the switch housing. |

Next, open out the VC and put it into place. You will find
you need to file down the inner surface of the VC so that it slots neatly in
place. You will also need to file away the tag that fits between the two
throttle cables. Don't overdo that - you want a snug fit. Finally, fit the
plastic washer between the VC and the rubber grip. |

Lastly, check that the handle doesn't catch the tank on full
lock. If so, once again, file down the handle until it is clear. It should
now look like this on the bike. |

Use the brass key to adjust the friction. In use, set the
throttle and then use your thumb to set and release the lock. |
