Falconry run

The weather forecast was excellent for the East side of the country and this is where we were headed.

Gary and friends were off to Spain and being left behind I kindly accepted that I would very much like to ride to the Falconry whilst they were away, as it had been an great day out last year and I had missed it. And you would lead said Gary!!

There were 7 bikes and a busy ride out over the woodhouse pass to Lincoln was complete in one 2hr run (with Geoff and Karen busy trying to prevent this - wanting to stop for a brew from about 45mins into the run?).

We made the centre in the middle on the main flying show, watched and then bet on the later pig racing.  The day’s programme ended with an indoor show, which included a beautiful 5-foot span baby eagle owl, flying over our heads - tame enough to let the children stroke its back.

We had a good clear run on fast country roads for the longer way back, until we reached Buxton, when we hit the rainy west. Suiting our raingear we departed in different directions home after a fab day.

Thanks to Gary for the route and just to confirm that you do a great job leading and believe you should continue.

Pictures from Derek - no commentary since I was not there.
