Our first ride of Spring (well, March is supposed to be that season). Weather was looking OK so I headed off for the start. For once, I got there early - even before Gary. Went in to get a brew and when I came out there were around 19 bikes all milling around (with their owners) including two brand new ones. Neither was a Honda - but that's life.

We set off (late as usual) and were soon having a great ride down empty country roads - most unusual but it was good. A slight delay with the many traffic lights of Crewe/Nantwich and we were on our way again to the first stop - a butty bar somewhere. Tea and burgers were consumed by a few (yes Gary, we did see you) and we motored on again.

Gary missed his turning (he said they moved the village, but we aren't sure about that) and we had a slight diversion through the middle of Shresbury. By this time it was lunchtime and we were getting hungry. Mark suggested McDonalds over the radio and since no-one disagreed, that's where we ended up - much to the disgruntlement of a few ("That's not lunch, that's *****").

Once done, we headed off to Morton Corbett Castle - which was somewhat more of a ruin than we had expected. Still, the obligatory photoshoot followed and we headed off to a local pub so that the rest of the crew could get some lunch.

About an hour later, we all got served - and 30 mins after we set off for home. Once again, cracking roads - a short petrol stop (how can Su, being a passenger, fall off a stationary bike?) and home in time for tea.

Pictures for the perusal of all:

The start - where the early few (3 of us) were soon followed by the hordes
Geoff and Karen made it to the right starting point this time
Rafael shows off his new companion - and so does Brian ! Judy decides it's time for breakfast just as everyone else is leaving.
First stop - and it's food and drinks all round.
Then, on to McDonalds. The stop outs stay by the bikes while the rest of us go and "enjoy" a hearty meal
Then, on to the castle where much gawping and tomfoolery was seen.
The group photo worked well (even I managed to get into the picture)
Mandy was struggling with her camera - while Brian managed to take a very good picture of his helmet
And so, off to the pub for lunch.

Where some of us stayed outside with the drinks
While others were inside eating (notice Malc and Val sharing - isn't love wonderful)
