Today was the day for the HOC lunch where we meet up with other branches and have a natter over some food.
Weather forecast wasn't brilliant (it is St Swithins Day!) but we got 11 bikes and 3 passengers out from Manhoc. So not too bad. After waiting for Gary (he was at the wrong services), we set off in the dry and wandered slowly down the M60 and onto The Woodhead Pass. Where the heavens opened and we had to stop for the obligatory waterproofs. Brian was quite glad - his legs had gone to sleep. So, after a brief recovery stop, we carried on and eventually arrived at Squires Cafe.

Food was OK - not brilliant, but the company was good - and they had the bike racing on the TV... About 30 mins later, the W Yorks crew arrived. They got some food and then wandered over for a chat. We stepped outside for the obligatory group photo and, since it was still raining, we all decided to go home !

Some piccies (as always)

At the start - where we discovered why Gary's rack was loose - the subframe was cracked.
The first stop. Getting the waterproofs on.
Then, onto Squires. Where I let Mandy and Judy loose with my camera....

Mike decided he'd ridden a long way and needed a nap (it's old age, you know)
Then, outside for a photo. Under a tree so it didn't look too wet (but it was).
One enterprising Yorkshire lass had even brought an umbrella.
