It was gorgeous weather as we met up at Poplar Services.
There were twelve riders with three pillions.
We had a great ride into Wales, even avoiding detection
from the policeman with his camera. After Wrexham we found a nice B road heading
for Ruthin. Then we found some unplanned roads as Gary missed a turn or three
and we trekked over the hills of Denbighshire. He soon got back on the right
track and we headed for Llandudno.
It got to lunch time and we had a fantastic meal at THE
LINKS HOTEL. Highly recommended if you’re ever in Llandudno. It’s a huge
building on the A470 with a large car park.
After lunch we had a walk through the mines and then rode
up to the Great Orme where there are great views of the coast and mountains of
Snowdonia.
Gary found another nice B road and set a nice pace until
Tony had a mishap on a sharp bend. A distracting right turn had him missing the
bend and running up a grass bank and rolling back down. After close inspection
the bike and Tony were unharmed apart from Tony being shook up and embarrassed.
We had a short stop at the café on the A5 near Corwen then
headed home via the A494. Another great day out and looking forward to the next
one in three weeks time.

After many hours in the saddle, in high
temperatures, on dusty roads, we arrived, tired and weary |

Suitably attired, we made
our onslaught into the dark caverns |

The troops managed to escape, and met up
at a watering hole |

Meanwhile, back in the shop, Raphael found some
friends. |

The group had one stop on the way back,
to admire the scenery. Unfortunately we seem to have picked up a couple
of space men |
