Glasson Dock for the brave
She shivered as she peeled off the soggy, freezing cold socks and slithered into
the steaming hot bath. “Ooooh, aarrgh, eeee” she sighed as she tried to work out
whether the bath was too hot or just right as there was no feeling in her feet or
legs. It was only after her whole body was covered that she stopped shivering despite
having the heated jacket and hand grips on full (which was a strange thing to have
on when getting into a bath)-
Today was a weather day -
Anyway, we hung around as long as we could so we could work out if the snow was going
to get better or worse. But 11am came and went and eventually we had to venture out
-
By this time it was actually snowing (rather than rain and a bit of sleet), so Phil
led us nicely to a nearby McDonalds where we wandered in and hung the wet coats up
to dry. More food and drink was consumed while we considered what to do next. The
sensible ones decided it was time to go home -
The 5 of us then headed home through the snow (as in “My visor is covered in snow
-
We got home around 2pm and Norma jumped into a hot bath to warm up (see opening paragraph
which she wrote for me) while I debated whether to go and fix my radio which had
decided to pack up (the answer was “No -
Meanwhile the other three fools diehards carried on. I got a text saying they were off to Glasson Dock and one later saying they were home, cold and wet. See the story on the left for Phils report.
And the odd photo of the troops.
Oh what a wonderful day,not snowed but might well have done, seems its rained all
night, but that don’t stop the hardened bikes of the manhoc.
off I go to the meet point, got
there half hour early to find there was already a bike parked up,well done Kev,closely
followed by Mr and Mrs Chairman, norma in the rain, whatever next?I’ve heard she’s
making pancakes next week for a load of bikers.
So as tradition,we set off late into the rain, north bound up the 61, turned off and
tried to go through Ribchester, but a diversion put paid to that,so I pulled over
and spoke to the gaffer who said “find a pub” (he really does have a drink problem),
but we ended up in McDonalds as t was then near Clitheroe. Having sat in there for
an hour or so it was time to go on with the ride,”don’t think so” said 6 riders,
and off they went to there nice warm cosy homes, that left the real bikers to carry
on with the ride, myself, young Malcolm, and Paul Collins.
What a damn good time we had. We decided to change the route towards the coast, preston
harley davidson coffee shop seemed to be that way,so we called in,had a coffee and
laughed at there bikes, and left. Next stop Garys home, where we were made very comfy
and warm, only got cake tho,we thought maybe a sunday dinner, but no,carrot cake it
was to be,and from there we headed off home, extremely cold, wet, bordering on hypothermia.
Same time next week guys
