The Sore-Ass awards are for the rider and pillion who has done the most miles on
our rides.
There are a few rules for qualifying for the Sore-Ass awards.
- You have to turn up and be ready to leave with the rest of the crew. If you join
us later, that doesn't count.
- You must do the whole ride. No turning off for home early unless everyone does it.
At the discretion of the chairman, you may receive points if you do part of the ride.
- You must attend the awards ceremony at the end of the year to receive your prize
if you are a winner. If not, it goes to the second place and so-on.
- You must be on a motorcycle, a trike or a motorcycle and sidecar. Turning up in a
car (or any other 4 wheeled transport) doesn't count.
How does it work?
- Each mile done on the official runs (as published on this web site) gives you one
point, either as a pillion or as a rider. At the end of the year, all points are
added up and the winners shown.
- A leader gets an extra 25% points as a reward for leading. If he/she has a pillion,
then they both get 30% extra points (the rider for putting up with the pillion and
the pillion for taking extra abuse)
- The person bringing up the rear, or Tail-End-Charlie, (T.E.C.), will also receive a further 10% points as a reward, and if they have a pillion, the pillion will also receive an extra 10% points.
If there is a draw, the following will apply.
- The person who has attended the most rides will be the winner.
- If there is still draw, anyone who has also been on an Ad-Hoc ride will have the number of miles for the
Ad-Hoc ride added to their score.
- If this still gives a draw, then we will have joint winners.
