Ironbridge

Up

On the 3rs November we went down to Ironbridge. Only 3 of us turned up which was a real shame because the weather was sunny, the roads were clear and Gary had planned a superb route.

These are some pictures and comments about the day.

We met up in the Poplar 2000 services car park. Gary, Gary and me,
After a wonderful ride down - apart from the sun leaking through the dark visor occasionally, we arrived at the Ironbridge museum. This is the two Gary's working out how to lock the bikes together
After a drink and a pasty to keep us going, we headed to the actual bridge to take some photos and look at the scenery.
Then, onto the bridge where we took some more pictures of the bikes - just to make sure they were still there, you understand !
The view was magnificent. Then we went across the bridge to the toll house. These are the charges - even the Queen has to pay.
From there, into the museum. It seems they get flooded every so often as you can see from the plaque above Gary's head.
After that, we went down the Tar Caves. This is Gary and Gary modelling the new open face helmets they asked us to wear. Then Gary wanted to wear his own one - so we let him.
Finally - lunch (OK, a really big breakfast) and more drinks before riding home. The picture is of the Shropshire canal.

Overall, a really nice day - no rain until I got back into Rochdale, so I can't complain.
